InterAid Uganda sensitizes Refugee population on Ebola prevention

InterAid Uganda, 30th July – 3rd August 2012

Every morning as refugees come in for several services at the offices, a detailed communication about the services offered at Inter Aid is given. This week, due to the sudden Ebola and Cholera out break, Inter Aid Uganda through its health unit oriented the Community Volunteers, daily visiting clients and its staff about the preventive measures to avoid contracting the deadly epidemics and also how to handle patients suspected and diagnosed with the epidemic.

It was also the Breastfeeding Week and indeed the Counselors and Health Unit staff made a point to discuss and share information on the importance of breastfeeding.

The increasing prevalence rate of Tuberculosis compelled the Health staff to also disseminate information to the urban refugees, asylum seekers and also the staff about the signs and symptoms of TB and also encouraged them to test for TB.
